What I look for early to mid game are electricity / workstation / trap / vehicle books and parts and he has all of that, including a higher chance for crucibles and vehicle parts.

As mentioned above, if you don't know about random gen worlds, what you name it will determine the map. So if you look for any map seeds for console, just be sure you type the name in exactly. Until day 4 or so when i have around 10 farm plots of each crop. My traders never have much in terms of food. Maybe 2 meals before the reset. The trader does make the game easier but I don't think broken easier. By day 7 no trader I can still find an early gun, have concrete up and ready, be close to having transportation, and usually tons of ammo.

Lol, this was an uncommon occurrence in A19 but in A20 it seems to happen a lot. I'm hoping to see a fix in A20.1. I'm guessing that vehicles dropping below ground, traders dropping and turrets dropping below ground are all being caused by the same issue.

ON PC, once you find a trader, I find that if you scroll on the map and place the trader at edge East or West of map display, the next trader is highly likely to be 1 map west or east, and slightly north or south.
