Anarchy is by far the more fun way to play Gaige. Jakobs shotguns, high damage per shot revolvers (think like Ruby) and high rate of fire snipers are your bread and butter. For shields I usually run a Nova or an Amp shield since Blood Soaked Shields negates most concerns about recharge delay/rate.Anyway for a shock build you always need good, on lvl shock gear (my favourite gun as a shock gaige is the storm). I play on ps4, so i use the vanilla game without any mods and my shock build was always viable (well i wasn‘t able to get all the 10 op lvls, but i could always play normally thru all the modes).In the field, you can gain "free" anarchy by shooting things that break, like ice chunks, skag piles, stalker pods, pottery jars in Tiny Tina's DLC, etc. Must use something like a Jakobs shotgun that must reload every shot. The ricochet Fibber (the one that shows extremely high damage on the name card) is phenomenal too.
