John deere 4020 problems.

Jul 13, 2015 · The super 4020 title was a very accurate on for them. 18.4x38 tires are probably the most common size for them. The power difference between them and a 4020 is very noticeable. Without a turbo a 4020 will usually smoke very heavy once you push it to around 110 hp. With the turbo the 4320 can push up near 150 with very little difficulty. I have bled the system and transfer pump is pumping good up to the injector pump. But when I crack the injectors nothing. There is a 5/16 bolt on the outward side of the injector pump. If I loosen this bolt, it will run normally but shoots fuel out the hole.

Loosen one bolt at a time in sequence pattern and re-tighten it. You will. see they will turn down another 1/8 to 1/4 turn depending on length of bolt. The old replacement.Thats usually a linkage issue. Ours do it also. Usually if u go to reverse then back forward it will completley come out of park. Not saying it cant happen but the 4020 is a very well built tractor and the powershift transmission in it is practically indestructible. I have a '68 model and it was doing the same thing.Member. I checked the needle valve in the carb as it was a problem last year. Nope, still nice and clean. Pulled a spark plug and turned the engine over, it showed a nice blue spark.

Feb 14, 2021. #1. Directly behind the oil pressure gauge is a small hole in the governor housing. Oil will go through that hole and run down a trough to the oil tube. Remove the oil pressure gauge and take a small stiff piece of wire and you can unclog the hole. I had the same issue with a 37 A. It takes some. patience but it can be done. OP.Jan 24, 2017. #1. The cam gear would not clear the cast hydraulic pump support and if that was removed it would have hit the steering box. Cam barely cleared the steering box with gear removed. I was able to fix it by shortening the park cable. You can do this behind the dash by taking off the hood cowl (I think that's what it's called). It has a threaded end so it can be shortened.Total for the rebuild was $700 but was still cheaper than buying a reman brake valve, at least according to the local JD dealer anyway. Good News....the original brake valve was rebuildable. It solved the entire problem and it stops great. No more wheel lock up. Its just the poor quality of the batteries mounted under the deck, along with the fact the 24v system is h^ll on batteries and starters.
