Including, but not limited to: the Hunting store to the east of the city (also next to an unlabelled fire station), the other police station, the surplus store, the mall surplus store, the jail and the military checkpoints spread around the south.

So the player has to do a tiny bit of work to get one in working order (or just be lucky...) Tldr; the best base has tall prefab fences or is built on the water, has access to a well or a body of water, is close to the centre of the map, is close to but not in a town, has a nearby forest and a nearby gas station. You need a container that can hold gasoline. Gas stations have gas. Power will need to be on, or generated. Guns are found in boarded up homes and police stations mainly and check houses in bedrooms and closets perhaps. zombie cops might have guns, military places can have guns. Sandbox setting will dictate how many and how easy to find.

I have read somewhere that the storage of the gas station is limited, but that the amount of gasoline in the storage is very high, making it unlimited in practice. The front and back of each pump share the fuel source. So in the 4 pump station, there are actually 8 fuel sources. In my test, the amounts ranged from 10811 - 13829 units. In total, there were 99882 units. My 41.50 base in Blackwood has 2 popsicle fridges and one large fridge. It uses less than 5 units of fuel per day.
