It’s seems these pages address this but in reading the FAQ’s in the ruling it seems the amnesty doesn’t apply to a 870 Tac 14 Arm Brace or “SBS”.

I honestly wanted to get chokes for it before I got the salvo just to see how much barrel length affects pattern vs choke constriction. Speed of E-file helped a lot with no regrets on the SBS also.

If you buty a Mossberg Model 590 and install a short barrel and Shockwave grip, you end up with a SBS that needs to be registered. But the Shockwave is originally manufactured with no stock (something the writers of the NFA didn't anticipate), so under the NFA definitions it can't be a shotgun.
